Position Title:
Senior Electrical Control Systems Engineer
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will review client specifications to ascertain control system needs, electrical component specifications, and wiring requirements. Collaborate with sales and estimating teams to define design specifications and associated costs. Develop Electrical Schematic Designs, establishing standards for schematics, and generate Bills of Material. Design Panel Layouts while possessing knowledge and experience in PLC capabilities, programming, and HMI Programming for platforms such as Allen Bradley Micro, Compact Logix, and Siemens S7. Engage in Motion Control, including Servo control, and motor control utilizing VFDs. Proficient in Fieldbus Communications, Safety PLCs, and relays, as well as CE and UL electrical standards. Create comprehensive documentation and training materials, and design network architecture. Lead programming and wiring teams, and troubleshoot wiring, PLC code, and overall machine performance.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in PLC programming, preferably with Allen-Bradley software
- Expertise in AutoCAD for controls and electrical design
- Experience in panel design and UL compliance
- Familiarity with Rockwell (90%), Siemens, and Beckhoff systems
- Competence in Compact Logix and Micro systems
- HMI programming and troubleshooting skills
Job Type: This is a permanent position.
Work Environment:
This role is based in a manufacturing setting, collaborating with a dedicated engineering team of five professionals. The position requires cross-functional collaboration with both mechanical and electrical teams.
