Position Overview:
Our client, a mid-sized firm in the Commercial Real Estate Investment sector, is in search of a Financial Controller. This position will report directly to the COO and will operate in a hybrid model, requiring three days in the office and two days of remote work. The role involves direct oversight of a small team, emphasizing a hands-on approach with limited delegation of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute all accounting functions and reporting operations, including conducting audits of annual budgets and CAM reconciliations.
  • Oversee monthly budget monitoring to assess individual project cash flows.
  • Drive the development and enforcement of company policies, implementing procedures aimed at minimizing risk and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Lead investor relations, encompassing communications with investors, managing distributions, and coordinating capital calls.
  • Conduct intricate 1031 exchange analyses for both investors and internal stakeholders.
  • Engage with the company's lenders to monitor debt covenants across the portfolio, including the preparation and review of quarterly compliance documentation.
  • Prepare semiannual reforecasts of property values.
  • Assist in asset management tasks, including sales, refinancing, property insurance, cash flow management, and scenario analysis.
  • Oversee the company’s risk management and insurance portfolio, ensuring all properties are adequately insured and managing annual insurance renewals.
  • Handle annual tax responsibilities.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
CPA certification is preferred.
Experience in Public Accounting, particularly with real estate clients, is ideal.
Expertise in Yardi software is advantageous.
Familiarity with Commercial Real Estate operations is beneficial.
