Job Summary

The Childcare Site Supervisor - Group Leader is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of an assigned site. This role requires a strong commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Assist in the development and implementation of programs that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
    • Ensure that programs are aligned with the YWCA's mission and goals.
  • Supervision and Leadership
    • Supervise and interact with children to help them develop physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.
    • Ensure that Child Guidance policy is properly maintained.
  • Record Keeping and Administration
    • Record snack counts and items served daily and make menu changes when necessary.
    • Keep accurate records of children's attendance.
    • Date and initial schedules and amount paid.
    • Record monthly drills.
  • Site Management
    • Ensure all paperwork and record keeping materials are on site during program hours.
    • Responsible for opening and closing the site.
    • Pick up snack cooler on the first day of the work week and any additional snack items during the week as requested. Return site cooler on requested day.
    • Inform Assistant Program Director Snack and Supply when you receive more or less snacks than required for your site.
    • Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies at the site.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Attend staff, departmental, and other YWCA meetings as assigned.
    • Maintain familiarity with YWCA goals, mission, and programs.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • High School Diploma, or equivalent; advanced degree in Early Childhood, CDA, Elementary Education, or related degree preferred.
  • Experience
    • 1-3 years' experience and educational background in group activities and planning daily programs.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Ability to meet Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services licensing requirements.
    • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to provide a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children.
    • Detail-oriented with good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to develop a team approach with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; enthusiastic, warm, and approachable.
    • Experience working with culturally and economically diverse populations.
    • Good judgment when making decisions. Able to make collaborative decisions for the good of the YWCA.
