About the Role

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join our dynamic legal team at a pivotal time for our expanding business. As a member of the Product Legal team, you will support our Dasher-facing products and services, as well as the DoorDash logistics engine. Your responsibilities will be broad and varied, with a focus on providing guidance across a wide range of legal issues domestically and internationally, including consumer protection, worker classification, competition, regulatory, and privacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide solution-oriented advice and legal direction to a wide variety of teams from the initial stages of project development to launch.
  • Independently develop practical guidance on issues relating to consumer protection, worker classification, competition, regulatory, and privacy.
  • Work closely with other members of the legal team to ensure holistic and effective legal guidance across disciplines.
  • Serve as cross-functional connective tissue and help gain consensus across non-legal teams.
  • Build playbooks and establish processes to help scale our advice as a legal team.
Requirements
  • A business-first mentality, strong legal judgment, and the ability to make decisions in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment with imperfect information.
  • Skilled at managing a high volume of requests from a wide range of client teams and balancing competing priorities with limited direction.
  • Understanding of complicated areas of law and ability to apply them to a complex business.
  • Great communication skills, capable of translating complex legal concepts into understandable, tactical guidance.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
  • 8+ years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • JD and admission to any state bar.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous product counseling experience.
  • Experience in the tech industry or the on-demand economy.
