Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our ICR Stepdown Float Pool team at Stony Brook University Hospital. As a Level 2 RN, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced acute care setting, working effectively with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient-centered care, demonstrating strong assessment skills and a commitment to excellence.
- Function effectively in a Level 2 acute care setting, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and technologies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, floating across different units as needed to meet the needs of the hospital.
Requirements:
- Current RN license in the state of New York.
- 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for travel RN experience and Cerner Medical Record experience.
- ACLS, BLS, Telemetry Exam, NIHSS, and Unit/Scope-specific exam certifications.
- Ability to pass pre-employment health clearance and provide verification of legal right to work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 18 months of recent experience in an acute care facility of similar size and level.
- Ability to perform patient care skills with minimal orientation and supervision.
