Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team and contribute to our commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, perform physical examinations, and formulate assessments and diagnoses.
- Initiate, review, and revise treatment plans, ensuring accurate documentation and presentation of data to the supervising physician.
- Provide essential patient care services within the medical practice.
- Assist physicians during interventional treatments and manage incoming phone messages, including timely call backs to patients with responses to attending physicians.
- Make referrals to other healthcare providers when necessary and consult with physicians for further definitive therapy.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Order and evaluate appropriate non-invasive diagnostic tests and procedures, maintaining a commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Instruct and counsel patients on healthcare, health maintenance, medical problems, treatment plans, nutrition, and related issues, ensuring a patient-centered approach.
- Facilitate efficient patient movement through the healthcare system and optimizing resource utilization through interdepartmental collaboration.
- Participate in audits and research initiatives within the healthcare setting, contributing valuable insights and helping to advance our understanding and practices in Cardiothoracic Surgical care.
Qualifications:
- NYS license and certification as a Physician Assistant.
- Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited school of Physician Assistants.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Current NYS RN license.
- Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Nursing or completion of a Nurse Practitioner course.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in adult health and/or family health nurse practitioner.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a fast-paced medical practice. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Experience with Cardiothoracic Surgery.
