Job Summary:

Effingham Hospital Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient experiences.

About the Role:

This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as you will interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals on a daily basis. Your primary responsibility will be to register patients for services, obtain and verify accurate demographic and insurance information, and ensure proper documentation and billing processes are followed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Register patients for services and update records accurately and efficiently.
  • Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and other relevant details.
  • Process payments and maintain cash receipts with precision.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely and accurate communication.
  • Assess insurance status and calculate co-insurance from patients.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of health insurance, deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance necessary.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in customer service, patient registration, and collections preferred.

What We Offer:
