Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assemble Brass Instruments professional to join our team at Conn-Selmer. As a member of our organization, you will be responsible for safely and accurately performing all operations required to complete the rough assembly of brass instruments.

Responsibilities
  1. Safely Assemble Instruments: Perform all operations required to complete the rough assembly of brass instruments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Handle Parts and Components: Properly and carefully handle all parts and components, adhering to established job standards.
  3. Inspect Work: Routinely inspect assigned work to ensure compliance with established job standards.
  4. Comply with Safety Procedures: Comply with all safety procedures and PPE requirements, maintaining a safe work environment.
  5. Move and Manipulate Materials: Safely and accurately select, move, lift, and maneuver all raw materials, tooling, work in progress, fixtures, and completed parts from designated stock locations to assigned work areas.
  6. Set Up Equipment: Safely and accurately set up lathes, tooling, and all assembly fixtures to meet required dimensions and tolerances.
  7. Trim and Insert Tubes: Trim inside and outside of slide tubes to specific cut-off points and lengths utilizing a lathe, and insert and secure individual tubes into the spindle chuck of assigned lathe.
  8. Assemble and Solder: Complete various assemblies either by using the designated assembly fixture or by carefully aligning each component part prior to soldering.
  9. Adjust and Bend Components: Adjust, manipulate, and bend specific areas of each named component to achieve superior slide action and minimal resistance between mating parts.
  10. Check Work: Make visual and dimensional checks of parts processed according to prescribed methods and measures.
  11. Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Maintain an appropriate, clean, and safe work environment, adhering to Eastlake Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications
  1. Regular Attendance: Regular attendance is required for this position.
  2. Manufacturing Process Aptitude: Possess a strong aptitude for manufacturing processes and procedures.
  3. Hand Tool and Equipment Operation: Ability to use a variety of hand tools, measure devices, and related manufacturing equipment and operating controls.
  4. Good Communication Skills: Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Sound Judgment: Ability to make sound judgment based on consistent and objective measures.
  6. Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for 8 consecutive hours, and to properly handle instruments and components.
  7. Scrap Material Disposal: Responsible for properly disposing of or recycling any scrap material generated by any assigned production operation.
  8. Compliance with Safety Procedures: Comply with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  9. Exposure to Manufacturing Environment: Exposure to manufacturing environment, including dust, noise, and vibration.
Salary and Benefits

Up to $19.93 plus $2.00 Attendance Bonus
