In the position of Project Accountant 2, your responsibilities will include:

  • Independently managing client invoicing, overseeing collections, and handling project budgets, while providing backup support for accounts payable, timesheet processing, and expense reporting.
  • Ensuring accurate contract documentation, administration, and maintenance, including the entry of fees and budgets.
  • Collaborating with project teams to deliver timely contract performance data and address financial discrepancies.
  • Coordinating the project accounting system within the department and liaising with technical staff to guarantee compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Supporting multiple project managers and team members on a daily basis.
  • Providing mentorship to junior project accountants as necessary.
  • Carrying out additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a relevant field or a combination of education and applicable experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; an advanced degree may compensate for years of experience.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management principles.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, and proofreading.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-driven, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Capacity to manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • A strong commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture.
