Position Overview:

The Senior Processing Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing and guiding the daily operations of plant processing and personnel within a dynamic 3-shift, 5-day manufacturing framework. This role plays a pivotal part in managing production-focused continuous improvement initiatives and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all daily production activities by leading a team of supervisors, compounders, weighers, and dispatch specialists, ensuring compliance with production timelines while prioritizing safety and efficiency, as well as adherence to FDA, GMP, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with a Processing Continuous Improvement Engineer to devise and implement strategies aimed at enhancing safety, efficiency, and reliability in processing operations, aligning with organizational goals and priorities, including the introduction of new processes and tools.
  • Engage with the Plant Manager and senior management to contribute to the formulation of strategic operational plans.
  • Manage administrative functions such as budget development and oversight, change management processes, and the creation and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a processing management capacity with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • At least 3 years of substantial experience in processing operations within the consumer products, pharmaceutical, or food sectors.
  • Proven project management experience of 5 years or more.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and unit operations, such as in-line mixing and emulsification.
  • Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred.
  • Aspiring leader capable of fostering a positive work atmosphere and motivating teams to achieve higher performance levels; adept at team building and leading through transitions.
  • Demonstrated ability in effective problem analysis and resolution at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive approach to engaging stakeholders for insights and perspectives; ability to collaborate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Capability to monitor and report on departmental activities.

Compensation: The expected salary range for this role is $100,000 - $135,000.
