MDS Assessment Coordinator

MDS Coordinator Overview:

The MDS Coordinator is accountable for the prompt and precise execution of all MDS evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the MDS timetable to ensure compliance with established MDS deadlines and notify Social Workers and the Education Director of upcoming MDS evaluations.
  • Prepare and disseminate the monthly MDS calendar.
  • Develop new assessments in alignment with the MDS timetable.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual MDS meetings as a representative of the nursing department.
  • Establish annual nursing Kardex objectives for the interdisciplinary care plan.
  • Create a physical copy of all MDS evaluations and secure the signatures of all team members involved in the assessments.
  • Verify MDS for completeness.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid nursing license in good standing.
  • Possess a solid understanding of nursing and medical practices, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines relevant to nursing care facilities.
