Job Summary:

The MDS Coordinator - Clinical Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of all MDS assessments. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to maintain the MDS schedule and coordinate with the nursing department and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the MDS schedule within stated time frames and inform the nursing department and other relevant teams of pending MDS assessments.
  • Generate and distribute the monthly MDS calendar to ensure all stakeholders are aware of upcoming assessments.
  • Create new assessments according to the MDS schedule and ensure all necessary information is collected.
  • Attend quarterly and annual MDS meetings as a representative of the nursing department to discuss assessment results and best practices.
  • Generate annual nursing Kardex goals for the interdisciplinary care plan to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Prepare and distribute hard copies of all MDS assessments for review and signature by team members.
  • Verify the completeness of MDS assessments and sign off on their accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Current nursing license in good standing.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
