Position Overview:

The Bakery Operations Supervisor collaborates closely with the Bakery Manager and team members to produce top-quality cakes, foster a warm and inviting environment, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. This role involves shared leadership responsibilities and working alongside the Bakery Manager to drive sales and profitability, manage daily operations, and ensure compliance with company standards. The Supervisor is vital in embodying the company culture, reinforcing core values, and bringing our brand to life for both team members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focuses on enhancing the guest experience, exemplifying outstanding guest engagement, and nurturing a positive workplace.
  • Collaborates with the Bakery Manager in overseeing all facets of guest service, cake production, brand presentation, work environment, financial management, and inventory oversight.
  • Aids the Bakery Manager in recruiting, selecting, and training team members, directing daily tasks, and providing performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Ensures that product quality, service standards, bakery environment, and visual merchandising meet company expectations and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Assists the Bakery Manager with operational and administrative tasks, including production planning, productivity goal setting, scheduling, supply ordering, sales reporting, and payroll processing.
  • Co-manages special orders through various channels for individual and corporate clients, including large and complex requests.
  • Participates in the opening and closing procedures of the bakery, including cash management and bank deposits.
  • Contributes to local marketing strategies by coordinating and participating in special events that promote the brand.
  • Maintains hands-on knowledge of all bakery roles and steps in to perform various tasks as needed.
  • Assists the Lead Operator with additional duties as required, such as order fulfillment, productivity goals, hiring, performance management, scheduling, inventory control, and expense management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; further education is advantageous.

• 1-3 years of experience in a guest-facing role within retail, restaurant, or foodservice, ideally in a leadership capacity with increasing responsibilities.

• Proven success in delivering exceptional guest experiences and mentoring others to achieve the same, training new hires, directing team efforts, and meeting productivity targets.

• Food safety certification (may be required to obtain shortly after employment).

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a willingness to learn new technologies.

Availability: Must be flexible to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on business needs.
