Job Summary:

The WIC Nutrition Specialist CPA-RD will be responsible for conducting nutrition care appointments and follow-ups at designated sites. You will prescribe standard and non-standard food packages, specialty formulas, and obtain anthropometric measurements. Additionally, you will provide input in the development of education activities, including staff trainings, curriculum development, and other related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow state guidelines for issuing infant formulas, exempt infant formulas, and other eligible nutritionals.
  • Prescribe appropriate food packages following state guidelines and the applicant's dietary/health requirements and personal preference.
  • Provide nutrition counseling to applicants, targeting their nutritional risk(s) and focusing on the most important nutrition risk or risks.
  • Monitor high-risk participants and ensure they are referred to a Registered Dietitian (RD) for follow-up in accordance with CCI's HR/NC protocol.
  • Collaborate with the Nutrition Services Manager in the planning and development of education activities and materials.
Requirements:
  • Registered and Licensed Dietitian
  • Bachelor's degree in public health nutrition, dietetics, or food and nutrition
  • Spanish fluency preferred
Working Conditions:

The WIC Nutrition Specialist CPA-RD will work in a clinical environment with prolonged periods of standing, bending, or working at a desk on a computer. The ability to lift up to 15lbs is required. Work under stressful conditions within a controlled enclosed environment daily.
