We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Financial Aid Officer to support our students in navigating the complex financial aid process, ensuring they have the resources needed to achieve their educational goals.

Job Summary:

The Financial Aid Officer will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to students and families regarding financial aid options, including federal, state, and institutional programs. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with exceptional communication skills and a thorough understanding of federal and state regulations related to student financial aid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in understanding and applying for financial aid, including federal, state, and institutional aid programs.
  • Conduct financial aid counseling sessions for prospective and current students, providing personalized support and guidance.
  • Process financial aid applications and ensure timely distribution of financial aid packages, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Verify student information and resolve discrepancies in applications or documentation, ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal policies.
  • Monitor student eligibility for aid, including satisfactory academic progress, enrollment status, and other requirements.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the institute to support student retention and success, fostering a student-centered approach.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes to financial aid regulations and policies, communicating these changes to students and staff in a clear and concise manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, families, and the community regarding financial aid processes and options, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial aid or student services, preferably within an educational institution.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state financial aid regulations (FAFSA, Title IV, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using financial aid management software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • A student-centered approach and a commitment to supporting students in achieving their educational goals, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
