Job Overview

As a Quality Control Inspector in our machine shop, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our manufacturing processes. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the company's standards and protect its assets through diligent inspection practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to conduct thorough inspections of all components.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to assess product quality.
  • Evaluate incoming materials and assemblies, confirming compliance with established specifications, and quarantine any non-conforming items.
  • Perform in-process inspections on manufactured parts, verifying dimensions against specifications as required.
  • Document inspection findings meticulously in both in-process and final inspection reports.
  • Ensure that all quality checks are executed prior to the release of finished products from the shop.
  • Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for items that do not meet specifications, summarizing defects and communicating findings to the production supervisor and engineering teams.
  • Maintain and update calibration records for all inspection instruments utilized in the shop.
  • Assist operations in completing hydrostatic testing reports as necessary.
  • Approve or reject finished products and create final inspection documentation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in quality inspection is preferred.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating independence in task execution.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills is required.
