Position Summary:
The Project Operations Manager will oversee all facets of enhancing mining operations, from initial exploration and planning to full-scale production. This role necessitates collaboration with a diverse team of professionals to manage engineering projects effectively. The Project Operations Manager will also be instrumental in mentoring junior engineers, managing project workflows, and engaging in business development activities, which include identifying new opportunities and nurturing strategic partnerships to support the organization's long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing proposals and managing project budgets and timelines
- Mentoring junior staff and fostering client relationships
- Driving business growth initiatives
- Ensuring seamless integration within a multidisciplinary engineering team
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in geology, mining, geological, or civil engineering; an advanced degree in business administration is advantageous
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining, aggregates, or consulting sectors
- A registered professional engineer or geologist license, or the ability to obtain one upon hire
- At least 5 years of experience in project management
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Experience in technical report writing
- Knowledge of resource and reserve reporting under U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission regulations
- Experience in financial modeling or cash flow analysis
- Proficiency in commercial mining engineering software and programming languages is preferred
