Job Title: Sourcing Manager

This position is responsible for securing and allocating donated food products for Second Harvest Heartland and its partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote food donations from manufacturers, distributors, and other sources.
  • Oversee the logistics of product distribution, including transportation and inventory management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent flow of products.
  • Monitor and analyze donation data to optimize the mix of products and meet the needs of our partner organizations.
  • Develop and maintain standards and procedures for donor recognition, receipting, and file management.
  • Collaborate with the Feeding America national office and other food banks to share best practices and acquire surplus products.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to donors, carriers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the development of special projects and initiatives to improve food sourcing and distribution.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (distribution, logistics, transportation, marketing, etc.) or equivalent experience in the food or grocery industry.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in logistics and transportation, with a focus on food sourcing and distribution.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Office 365, and other computer software programs.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and promote a culture of equity and inclusion.
