Job Summary
Olympus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior NPD Buyer to join our Advance Sourcing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the coordination of all procurement activities and discussions related to New Product Development (NPD) projects, providing a communication focal point between project teams and associated suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform as a core member on multiple NPD project teams throughout the project life cycles.
- Serve as a primary focal point and liaison between suppliers and project teams.
- Ensure a clear understanding and communication of requirements between suppliers and project teams.
- Directly responsible for ensuring the timely availability of goods and services throughout the project life cycle (e.g. prototypes, engineering builds, validations, launch, etc.). Initiate required follow up and provide updates to the appropriate team members.
- Ensure total compliance to OSTA Purchasing Policy and OSTA Quality Management System.
- Support Advance Sourcing Managers (ASM's) to develop a robust sourcing and supply chain strategy for all assigned projects.
- Contribute to total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction efforts and promotes communication across functions to identify and drive common policies and best practices to achieve cost reductions.
- Training skills to mentor and coach Associate Buyer's and Buyers in the skills to support the Purchasing Function.
Requirements
- Associate's degree is required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in business, engineering, purchasing or supply chain.
- Minimum of 5 years of Procurement experience is required.
- Medical Device Industry experience is preferred.
- NPD environment is highly desired.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP/ERP skills.
- Oracle, (Oracle Cloud) experience is desirable.
