Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director of the Empire State University Foundation

SUNY Empire seeks a visionary and experienced leader to propel the institution's fundraising, development, alumni engagement, and community relations to new heights. As Vice President for Advancement, you will play a critical role in elevating the university's profile, driving revenue diversification, and fostering a culture of philanthropy and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as the institution's chief fundraising officer and strategist, developing and implementing a comprehensive advancement plan aligned with SUNY Empire's strategic priorities.
- Lead a team of experienced advancement and alumni relations professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of fundraising, development, and alumni engagement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, alumni, and community leaders, cultivating a culture of philanthropy and community engagement.
- Develop and implement innovative fundraising and engagement strategies, leveraging technology and data-driven approaches to drive success.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and shared governance partners to advance the institution's mission and strategic priorities.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- At least eight years of progressive experience in advancement, fundraising, or alumni leadership, including budget oversight and management.
- Demonstrated record of personal fundraising success with major gifts.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams to set and achieve fundraising goals in alignment with institutional strategic priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated success in higher education or a sector with similarities to higher education in identifying and implementing innovative fundraising and engagement practices.
- Proven proficiency in leveraging technology to drive successful fundraising and alumni engagement campaigns.
