Position Overview:

The Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina is on the lookout for a committed contractor to enhance our Community Service/Restitution Program, with a focus on supporting youth in Craven County.

We seek an individual who possesses a robust background in engaging with at-risk youth, demonstrating professionalism, organization, and the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.


Essential Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in working with at-risk youth.
  • Availability to work two Saturdays each month and weekday evenings from 4 PM to 7 PM.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks that illustrate the responsibilities expected of youth at worksites.
  • A genuine passion for mentoring youth aged 6-17, with the ability to supervise, guide, and inspire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee work sites to ensure youth complete their assigned tasks effectively.
  • Provide clear explanations, demonstrations, and guidance to youth on task execution.
  • Assist in ensuring youth meet their community service hour requirements.
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships with professionals in the field.
  • Maintain case files for the youth involved in the program.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to update documents and databases.
  • Keep precise records for each worksite, including attendance and hours worked by each youth.
  • Supervise, instruct, and offer constructive feedback to youth at the worksites.
  • Collaborate efficiently with the program supervisor.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Associate Director and/or Program Coordinators.

$15.00 per hour

Expected Hours:
Approximately 6 hours per week

Schedule:
Evenings as required
