The Paramedic is tasked with delivering Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) patient care, along with facilitating ambulance transport for individuals in need.
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
Professional Experience:
A minimum of one year in a related field is required. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of standard operational practices and procedures.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Paramedic License
ACLS Certification
Driver's License
Healthcare Provider (CPR) Certification
Essential Qualifications:
Knowledge Base:
- Emergency clinical protocols and practices
- Operation of medical and emergency equipment
- Familiarity with local geography
Behavioral and Technical Competencies:
- Ability to remain composed and act swiftly in emergencies
- Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, often alongside emergency fire and police personnel
- Skill in fostering a positive and cooperative work atmosphere in high-pressure situations
- Willingness to work irregular hours and extended shifts, including outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods
- Capacity to assist in lifting patients, occasionally exceeding 200 pounds
- Awareness to minimize health risks from exposure to ill patients
