Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clerk III to join our team at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The successful candidate will provide clerical support services in an ISS A&M Unit, performing complex clerical work under limited supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review incoming appeals for validity and assist staff in filling out forms relating to appeals and hearing process.
• Maintain tracking system of assignments to ensure timely completion.
• Serve as the back up to other ISS A&M clerks and assist when needed for providing support for the ISS A&M Mailbox, scheduling of assignments, and assigning workload to designated staff.
• Type conference notes, reports, letters, memos, staff meeting notes, travel, and routes mail appropriately.
• Complete additional tasks upon request of supervisor or other staff.

Requirements:
• Ability to listen to clients, elicit, relate, and evaluate information; and interpret terms as needed.
• Ability to complete required work within specified deadlines.
• Knowledge of internet usage, computers, and basic mathematics.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, establish rapport with and relate to clients, and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Work Environment:
The successful candidate will work in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment, under constant pressure to meet required deadlines. Occasional overtime may be required outside of normal hours of operation, including weekends when called upon.
