Position Overview

As a Commercial Energy Solutions Specialist, you will be instrumental in broadening our clientele, specifically targeting large commercial and industrial (C&I) entities that require tailored risk management solutions alongside conventional retail supply services. Your key duties will include:
  • Building Client Connections: Establish and nurture relationships with major clients (100,000 MWHs+), particularly those with centralized energy management needs, focusing on risk and load management services in relevant markets.
  • Strategic Development: Formulate and execute strategies to approach, capture, and expand key accounts, identifying and leveraging market opportunities.
  • Opportunity Pursuit: Seek out large energy consumers for retail opportunities, highlighting risk management, demand response, and renewable energy solutions.
  • Proposal Management: Oversee the preparation of RFP responses, bids, and competitive analyses, collaborating with internal teams for effective execution.
  • Negotiation Leadership: Lead negotiations, secure necessary approvals, and articulate complex concepts to ensure successful transactions and robust stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree with a foundation in business practices, contract negotiations, B2B sales techniques, and quantitative or financial skills.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the energy sector, with a minimum of five years in retail or wholesale power origination.
  • A proven history of cultivating and enhancing valuable relationships with energy clients.
  • Results-driven, capable of working independently within a large, matrixed organization while effectively engaging with various cross-functional teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. electric commodity markets, retail and wholesale transaction frameworks, renewable technologies, and corporate energy management practices.
  • Strong sales acumen, excellent networking abilities, leadership, negotiation, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a successful track record in closing complex, structured transactions.
Additional Information
  • This role supports a hybrid work model.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time, including occasional overnight trips.
  • Adherence to all company ethics and safety policies is required.
Compensation Overview

Salary Range: $146,300 - $204,645 USD annually.

This range reflects the average expected pay for a qualified candidate. Actual salary may vary based on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, and internal pay alignment.

In addition to base compensation, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus structure.
