Role Responsibilities:

As a Heavy Equipment Operator/Certified Crane Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery to facilitate material movement at construction sites. Your key duties will include:

  • Assessing load weights and ensuring they align with lifting capacities to avoid overload.
  • Conducting inspections and adjustments on crane mechanisms and lifting accessories to maintain operational integrity.
  • Supervising helpers in the placement of blocking or outrigging under cranes.
  • Managing the loading and unloading of materials from trucks and relocating containers as necessary.
  • Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, assisting with repairs when required.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and reporting any incidents as per company guidelines.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Class A CDL is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Certification as a CCO (Certified Crane Operator).
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Capability to work in diverse weather conditions and environments.
  • Membership in the relevant trade union or willingness to join is required.
  • Successful completion of the Operators Union aptitude test when applicable.
  • Experience in piling, sheeting, and operating various crane types is advantageous.
