The organization is expanding its scope from bankruptcy to bankruptcy prevention with Upsolve Assist, an AI-powered Financial Assistant for low-income Americans.

Upsolve Assist helps individuals understand their best path out of debt and poor credit, taking action on their behalf wherever possible. The organization's funders include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Hewlett Foundation, the Robin Hood Foundation, and the Legal Services Corporation.

Position Overview

Upsolve seeks a passionate and skilled User Experience (UX) Researcher & Designer to contribute to the development of user-centric digital platforms. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience, ensuring our tools are cohesive, intuitive, accessible, and effective in helping low-income Americans overcome debt and rebuild credit.

The UX Researcher & Designer will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research and analysis to understand user needs and behaviors, informing design and development decisions. This includes conducting user interviews, usability testing, and other research methods to gather valuable insights.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Content team to ensure educational materials and product interfaces align with user needs and preferences. Additionally, they will partner with the User Advocacy and Engineering teams to incorporate user feedback into product improvements and translate design concepts into functional, high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct user interviews and usability testing to gather insights on user needs, preferences, and pain points.
  • Analyze user feedback and data to inform design decisions and improve overall user satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate user insights into actionable improvements.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and user interface designs that enhance the user experience and align with our brand.
  • Advocate for user-centric design principles and best practices within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in UX research and design.
  • Proven track record of conducting user interviews and translating insights into product improvements.
  • Strong design skills, with experience in wireframing, prototyping, and user interface design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma.
  • A portfolio showcasing UX research and design work.
