About the Role:

The Human Resources Coordinator is a key member of the Union Square Hospitality Group team, providing strategic support to our HR department. This role will assist in delivering comprehensive human resource services, including onboarding, employee relations, compliance, employment law, and policy advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with education and training on compliance and employee relations issues, such as progressive discipline, unemployment, workers' compensation, and leaves of absence.
  • Support the implementation and adoption of HR initiatives related to diversity, inclusion, and belonging, employee outreach, and community outreach.
  • Administer ongoing training and development programs for employees.
  • Partner with leaders to support payroll processes and provide training to managers on USHG SOPs, policies, and business initiatives.
  • Assist managers and employees in understanding and applying employment practices from a legal and company perspective.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulations, industry trends, and applicable laws regarding human resources.
  • Research and develop communication for compliance programs, including employee and manager guidebooks, HRIS updates, and addendums.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of HR or relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial organizational psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Organizational awareness and team-oriented.
  • Ability to apply discretion independently and maintain confidentiality as needed.
  • English fluency; Spanish language is strongly preferred.
