Quanex is seeking a skilled Product Development Specialist to drive innovation and efficiency in our product development process.
This role involves researching, developing, and launching new and existing products, as well as overseeing the implementation and maintenance of configurators. You will also be responsible for managing the setup of parts, creating detailed specifications, and determining testing requirements for manufacturing and components.

Key responsibilities include:
- Working with Operations to establish groups, families, routing, bill of materials, and other manufacturing requirements for all products.
- Configuring all product information into the system for both new and existing changes, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Providing input and recommendations on determining raw material specifications, machinery/equipment needs, and new process tooling on product development projects.
- Leading configuration by facilitating communication with all plants and configuring product in the system for first and subsequent production runs.
- Converting existing configurations into the NetSuite configurator and ensuring standardization for like products across QCC.
- Providing drawings on existing or new products for customer approval.
- Conducting periodic costing evaluations of active business and developing cost estimates and quote models for all business.
Requirements include:
- Two years of related post-secondary education; Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering Degree strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- ERP system experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to read customer and Quanex's prints.
- Knowledge of product types and maintenance of a configurator.
