As a Product Design Engineer at Lakeside Recruiting Solutions, you will play a crucial role in the development of innovative products.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop casting and tooling using 3D modeling software to meet quality and cost goals.
  • Conduct simulation analysis to optimize designs and improve product performance.
  • Compile design-related items for APQP documents and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to estimate costs and develop project plans.
  • Lead the evaluation and testing of tooling, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality.
  • Identify and resolve production problems related to tooling, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support and lead design reviews, APQP processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and upgrade CAD workstations, ensuring optimal performance and software compliance.
  • Manage and control CAD models and blueprint data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Support 3D printing activities and develop strategies for tooling design and development.
  • Develop and maintain tooling design standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Adhere to company policies, work rules, and regulations, and provide coaching and guidance to employees as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to improve product quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (not required but preferred)
  • Previous experience in design or product engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling software, with a preference for CREO or SolidWorks
