Blood Collection Specialist

At Synectics Inc, we are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. As a key member of our patient services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
- They will have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information.
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, they will perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- They will maintain a safe and professional environment and perform with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- The successful candidate will also maintain required records and documentation and demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, is preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification is also preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months experience is required, with one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is also preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience is a must.
- The ideal candidate will be able to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric, are essential.
- Shift/Time Zone: Eastern 7:00am -4:00pm with rotational Saturday 7:00a.m-2:00pm
