Job Overview

CPH, a leading engineering and architectural design firm, is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team in Orlando, FL. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for conducting wetland delineation, water quality monitoring, and flora and fauna identification. Your expertise in species survey protocol, qualitative and quantitative monitoring methodologies, and functional assessment will be essential in supporting our engineers and scientists with standard environmental issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct wetland delineation, identifying hydric soils and plants, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform water quality monitoring, including procedures, QAQC, and analysis of results, to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Conduct field work in various weather conditions and environments, requiring physical ability and adaptability.
  • Assist engineers and scientists with standard environmental issues, providing expertise and support as needed.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, including the 5 Water Management Districts, FDEP, and the Army Corps of Engineers, to ensure compliance with permitting requirements.
  • Produce high-quality work products, including draft reports and analyses, using sound professional judgment and expertise.
  • Work independently, evaluating and selecting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to adapt to project requirements.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of others on specific assignments, ensuring timely completion and quality results.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives, adhering to project scope, budget, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all work products.
  • Hold a valid, state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record and maintain FFWCC Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent Permit.
