About the Role:

At CoreCivic, we are committed to providing high-quality care and services to individuals in our custody. As a Treatment Counselor, you will play a critical role in helping offenders achieve positive behavioral changes and prepare for successful reintegration into their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of prospective program participants, gathering data using standardized screening and assessment instruments. Develop individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs and goals of each participant.
  2. Treatment Interventions: Facilitate individual and group treatment sessions, using evidence-based practices and therapeutic tools to promote positive attitudes, skills, and coping mechanisms. Monitor participant progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  3. Case Management: Maintain accurate and confidential records of participant progress, including intake documents, assessment results, treatment plans, and discharge summaries. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mental health professionals, case managers, and correctional staff, to ensure seamless delivery of services and effective case management.
  5. Program Evaluation and Quality Improvement: Participate in ongoing program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives, providing feedback and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of treatment services.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
  • One year of experience in mental health or substance abuse counseling
  • Colorado Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years old
