SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated professional to implement and oversee safety initiatives and protocols aimed at minimizing injuries and their associated costs while ensuring compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive safety evaluations of facilities to identify hazardous working conditions, behaviors, and practices, and formulate effective recommendations for improvements.
- Investigate incident reports and ensure that corrective measures are executed.
- Maintain all necessary documentation for Oshkosh Corporation's DOT program.
- Coordinate industrial hygiene assessments and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Supervise safety-related training required for compliance with applicable regulations.
- Provide management with updates on the status of Oshkosh's safety program through monthly and quarterly reports.
- Enhance and lead the Company's ergonomics initiatives.
- Collaborate with insurance providers and external consulting experts.
- Organize, plan, and direct the Safety Representative Program to guarantee a secure workplace for Oshkosh employees.
- Work closely with the Health Services Manager on workers' compensation matters.
- Actively participate in the Safety Implementation Team.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and other departments on the design and construction of new equipment, facilities, and processes to ensure safety in design.
- Develop and propose general accident prevention strategies, including specific protective procedures and devices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree in Safety or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Internship experience is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the industry is preferred.
Knowledge of applicable safety regulations is essential.
Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must.
Proficiency in computer skills is required.
