Job Title: Sr. Nurse Researcher, School of Nursing

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced nurse researcher to join our faculty at the School of Nursing, VCU. The successful candidate will possess a strong track record of nursing research with external funding and a willingness to provide visionary leadership and mentorship to faculty colleagues and students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a program of research supported by external funding
  • Contribute to the enhanced effectiveness of the community of scholars
  • Maintain teaching activity in the PhD program
  • Demonstrate commitment to contributing to VCU's Quest
  • Engage faculty, students, and staff to foster a diverse community at VCU
  • Demonstrate an integrated academic life, contributing to the teaching, research, and service missions in an urban research-intensive university with an academic health sciences center
Required Qualifications:
  • Research doctoral degree with at least one graduate degree in nursing
  • Active RN license or eligible for licensure in Virginia
  • Demonstrated achievement in scholarship with an established program of research that complements the areas of emphasis within the School, including but not limited to biobehavioral, wellness and health equity promotion, community engaged research, and healthcare systems science
  • Current or past funded research
  • Teaching experience at the PhD level
  • Demonstrated excellence in and passion for mentoring colleagues and students
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD leadership experience including curriculum development and/or program review or assessment
  • Record of accomplishments in scholarship and professional service
  • Demonstrated or potential excellence in leadership skills, including excellence in working effectively with others
