GENERAL JOB OVERVIEW:
This role is pivotal in delivering maintenance support across the facility, focusing primarily on mechanical challenges. The Technician's main duty is to address line disruptions related to mechanical upkeep.

Moreover, the position entails executing scheduled work orders and addressing downtime tasks, which include both preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

The Technician collaborates as part of a maintenance team, which encompasses Electrical and Automation Maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Responds promptly to mechanical breakdowns reported from the plant's process lines, undertaking necessary repairs to ensure continuous operation.

Identifies and rectifies defective or damaged components impacting any of the process lines. This process involves determining required parts, sourcing them from inventory, and installing them as necessary.

Completes assigned tasks on Maintenance work orders.

These work orders may involve various types of maintenance (electrical, mechanical, automation) and can be executed during downtime or while machinery is operational.


Documents daily activities and completed work, which is recorded by the Maintenance Shift Leader in the Maintenance log book.

Reports significant equipment issues that necessitate engineering intervention to the designated Engineer for the relevant area.

Completes PM checklists as needed.

Maintains cleanliness in all designated areas of the plant.

Undertakes any additional tasks assigned verbally or in writing by Supervisors, Engineers, or Managers within the Maintenance Department.

Physical demands include lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, climbing ladders, twisting, bending, stooping, and working in confined spaces.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Technician functions as a collaborative member of the Maintenance team, whether on day shifts or rotating shifts.

The role involves independent troubleshooting or repair of mechanical systems, alongside teamwork with other Maintenance crew members on work orders or breakdowns.

Additionally, the Technician interacts with Maintenance Engineers and Supervisors regarding work orders and breakdowns and is required to engage with Operations personnel to assess the effectiveness of repairs or modifications to existing and new systems.


The reporting structure for the Technician includes the Maintenance Shift Leader, the Maintenance Group Leader, and ultimately the Maintenance Manager.


MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Two years of industrial experience and/or a technical degree in a related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Mobility:

Dexterity:
Strong grasping, finger dexterity/handling, reaching.
Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule (alternating between days and nights weekly or bi-weekly).

HEALTH AND SAFETY:
Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.

Comply with Company safety protocols.

Immediately report any absence or defect in protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager.


Utilize or wear the necessary equipment, protective devices, or clothing as mandated: Safety shoes, Safety glasses, Hearing protection, Hard Hat.


Report any violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead, or Supervisor.

Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) procedures for designated machinery.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Operate in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
