About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Operations Specialist to join our team at Salt Lake City. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our extensive building systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and complete a variety of emergency and routine trouble calls, ensuring that repairs are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Act as a personal representative of the Director of Engineering and Maintenance, overseeing a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and skilled workers.
  • Direct and coordinate maintenance supervisors, technicians, skilled and semi-skilled workers, as well as representatives of local utility companies and contractors, in the repair of equipment and restoration of services.
  • Perform journey-level repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment, including boilers, chillers, engine generators, pumps, motors, electrical, natural gas, and water systems.
  • Operate and monitor a complex Computerized Building Management System to diagnose and correct problems with all associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot all facilities systems problems and determine the scope of work and action needed to be followed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of journey-level job-related work experience and training with maintenance equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and hazards and application of accident prevention measures associated with the operation of equipment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license or driving privilege card.
  • Must possess one or more of the following: Salt Lake City Steam Engineers - Unlimited License; CFC Certification, Fire Extinguisher Certification.
  • Ability to supervise and relate well with the general public, supervisors, and fellow employees.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, graveyard, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of standards, practices, materials, and methods used in equipment operation in an aviation environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and flowcharts.
  • Ability to understand and relay critical verbal and written instructions transmitted electronically, via radio or telephone.
  • Computer literate in Windows environment.
Working Conditions

This position requires moderately heavy physical activity, including pushing, pulling, or lifting heavy weights up to 100 pounds. The work environment is moderately hazardous, with exposure to disagreeable elements such as dust, fumes, noise, dampness, cold, heat, chemicals, or grease. The position also requires working in high-stress situations and adapting quickly to diverse conditions.
