Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager Representative to join our team at U-Haul. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction, renovation, and maintenance projects across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and monitor all phases of projects, including budgeting, schedules, and conformance to company specifications.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute construction, renovation, or maintenance projects and activities at assigned locations.
  • Assess project-specific documents, including drawings, project manuals, addendums, or modifications issued prior to proposal and/or bidding.
  • Oversee and participate in the selection of tradespeople, including the development of bid requests, contracts, and estimates for projects.
  • Exercise thoughtfulness and coordination to save money in regards to deconstruction during renovations.
  • Understand and follow all relevant city, state, and federal ordinances, rules, laws, and regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Advise contractors at each location to be properly trained, understand the correct procedures, and have the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure the necessary permits are obtained by the subcontractor.
Requirements
  • Be able to operate a forklift and other equipment as necessary when competent.
  • Business degree in Project Management, Business, or other related field or the equivalent of experience.
  • U-Haul experience is a must.
  • 3-5 years of construction or repair shop experience.
  • OSHA certification is a plus.
Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
