Job Summary

Rx Technology is seeking a skilled Access Control Technician to join our team. As a key member of our security infrastructure team, you will be responsible for installing, programming, and configuring access control systems, including card readers, electronic locks, and biometric readers. Your expertise in CCTV camera installation, maintenance, and repair will also be essential in ensuring the optimal functionality of our security systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, program, and configure access control systems, including card readers, electronic locks, and biometric readers
  • Expert experience installing, servicing, and repairing CCTV cameras and related systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing access control systems
  • Conduct site surveys to assess security needs and plan installations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with access control systems to ensure optimal functionality
  • Integrate access control systems with other security systems, such as CCTV and alarm systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand project requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, maintenance, and repairs
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction with all services rendered
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an Access Control Technician or in a similar role
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment used in the installation and maintenance of access control systems
  • Strong understanding of access control systems, including card readers, electronic locks, and biometric readers
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
  • Good physical condition, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in access control systems, such as Lenel, S2, Genetec, Software House, or equivalent
  • Experience with networking and IT systems
  • Familiarity with construction techniques and industry standards
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with relevant software
