Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at Satellite Services Inc. as a key member of our maintenance and repair team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing environmental-control systems in office buildings and other industrial areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, service, and repair environmental-control systems, including compressor and condenser units, ductwork, and chassis parts.
  • Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools.
  • Join tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings, or unions, and solder joints using a torch.
  • Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power sources.
  • Install air and water filters in completed installations, inject small amounts of refrigerant into compressors to test systems, and add Freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressures.
  • Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls to ensure proper operation, test joints and connections for gas leaks using gauges or soap-and-water solutions, and wrap pipes in insulation batting and secure them in place with cement or wire bands.
  • Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Three to five years of experience in HVAC equipment and controls maintenance and repair in an industrial setting (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with 2-3 years of working experience as a HVAC Mechanic
Licenses and Certifications
  • Universal HVAC Certification required
Work Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • Position may include some shift work and Saturdays and Sundays
