Job Summary


The Senior Manager, Legal Talent Technology & Analytics is tasked with enhancing systems, data management, reporting, and insights within the Legal Talent domain, which encompasses Legal Recruiting and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion ("DEI").

This position requires the application of technology, analytical skills, and project management expertise to create and implement a strategic roadmap that improves the effectiveness of current systems, boosts data quality, broadens insights, supports strategic initiatives, and aligns with the overall objectives of the Department.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Collaborate with the Director of Legal Talent Development, Director of Legal Recruiting Analytics, and other senior leaders in Legal Talent, Legal Recruiting, and DEI to design and execute technology and data analytics solutions that align with the Firm's business objectives.
  • Evaluate new systems, perform analyses, make recommendations, and lead the implementation of a new staffing platform.
  • Work alongside senior leadership across Legal Talent departments to facilitate the effective use of core departmental systems, data, and workflow solutions.
  • Review and document existing departmental processes for accuracy and opportunities for improvement.
  • Advance the Department's data management initiatives, ensuring reliable relationships between systems, data integrity, and adaptability to evolving business needs.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and analyze data from various Legal Talent systems for management insights.
  • Collaborate with data scientists in other Firm departments to execute advanced analyses.
  • Stay informed about relevant external data and recommend what information can be integrated into reporting based on technical feasibility.
  • Regularly engage with management to discuss project requests, highlight issues, and propose viable solutions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors for related systems.
  • Keep abreast of trends and developments in software providers, vendors, and technology.
  • Develop and deliver training on core and advanced systems functionalities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across HR, Office of the General Counsel, IT, Finance, and Knowledge.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Knowledge, and other departments to align project strategies, resources, and plans.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with data privacy and protection regulations.
  • Lead special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Required Skills

  • Proven organizational and project management abilities, including the capacity to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, manage risks/issues, solve complex problems, and communicate status effectively.
  • A blend of strategic and critical thinking skills, collaborative abilities, and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain and discuss analysis results and project outcomes in a professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with a diverse group of subject matter experts and managers.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, take initiative, remain flexible, handle confidential information appropriately, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience in conducting database analyses, writing SQL queries, and retrieving data for reporting purposes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in advanced Excel functionalities (macros, vLookup, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking software.
Preferred Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Workday, Micron Systems, viDesktop, viConnect, or similar tools.
  • Experience with statistical and machine learning-based analyses, including predictive, descriptive, and inferential analyses.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R and Python.
  • Experience with report writing software, working with APIs, and troubleshooting data and reporting issues.
  • Expertise in applying business intelligence/data visualization solutions (Power BI, Tableau, Quicksight, etc.).
Required Experience

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, with prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment being advantageous.
Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, finance, or related fields.
Preferred Education

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in business strategy, computer science, data science, or analytics.

Salary Information

The estimated base salary range for this position is $180-210k. The actual salary offered will depend on various factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and applicable location considerations. This role is exempt, meaning it is not eligible for overtime pay.
