As a vital member of our Credits, Incentives, and Methods (CIM) group, you will engage in tax consulting and advisory services specifically focused on Research and Development (R&D) tax credits.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting R&D tax credit studies and quantifying related activities and expenses.
  • Compiling necessary documentation and support to develop a comprehensive methodology for quantifying and substantiating past, present, and future credits.
  • Assisting with IRS and federal and state controversies and appeals concerning the R&D credit.

As a Senior Manager, you will lead a team dedicated to helping clients identify, document, and substantiate tax positions related to federal tax credits and incentives. Your role will encompass:

  • Providing strategic leadership to a team of professionals.
  • Performing tax planning and research, resolving intricate tax issues, and offering recommendations to clients regarding the R&D tax credit and other federal incentives.
  • Staying informed on legislative changes impacting tax credits and incentives.
  • Exercising sound judgment in evaluating complex scenarios involving various credits and incentives opportunities.
  • Collaborating closely with core Federal tax professionals to ensure exceptional service delivery to all clients.
  • Managing multiple R&D tax credit engagements while providing guidance to your team.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships that contribute significantly to revenue and margin.
  • Actively participating in business development efforts with existing clients and formulating marketing strategies to attract new clients.
  • Mentoring and developing team members, managing profitable engagements, and creating service offerings in conjunction with Washington National Tax.
  • Conducting technical reviews of deliverables and developing training programs at both national and local levels.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a public accounting firm or other professional services environment.
  • A proven track record in tax planning with a focus on federal credits and incentives, including R&D tax credits.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • CPA, EA, or J.D./LL.M. certification is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate tax matters across various industries.
  • Experience in managing tax consulting professionals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and similar software.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong leadership and business development capabilities.
