KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handles transactions and assists customers with their purchases of store items, fuel, and general inquiries.
  • Delivers customer service in a friendly and efficient manner while fostering teamwork.
  • Prepares the store for opening and adheres to proper procedures for closing at the end of each shift.
  • Prepares beverages such as coffee and fountain drinks throughout the store.
  • Stocks and maintains shelves, sales areas, and grocery items, ensuring compliance with temperature, refrigeration, and sanitary standards.
  • Operates electronic cash registers, calculators, and other necessary equipment to perform job duties.
  • Maintains all equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Assists in maintaining the external appearance of the store, ensuring the property is clean and presentable.
  • Adheres to store policies and regulations when selling controlled substances, including alcohol and tobacco products.
  • Prepares shift sales reports and worksheets, including cash discrepancies as per store policy.
  • Completes a shift change report at the end of the shift as directed by the Store Manager.
  • Reports to work punctually and follows the assigned work schedule.
  • Informs Store Management of all sales, cash, or operational discrepancies and customer-related issues.
  • Safeguards all store assets and follows loss prevention protocols.
  • Performs mathematical calculations to provide change, complete reports, and account for various products during vendor check-ins.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of cash handling and customer service experience is necessary.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Must acquire New Mexico State Alcoholic Beverage Service Certification.
  • Must obtain POIGRA Alcohol Server License.
  • Must maintain all educational and certification requirements.
  • Flexible work schedule with a willingness to work any days/hours as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties, the employee may be required to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
  • While performing the duties, the employee may be exposed to various weather conditions.
  • Team members may occasionally interact with irate or hostile individuals.
