Division OverviewCrown's Food Division is the world's leading manufacturer of food cans. Our comprehensive range of food packaging serves various markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder, and other dry food products. We offer a wide selection of food cans, from round to bowl-shaped, and are dedicated to delivering exceptional quality.
Job OverviewThe Plant Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, including month-end processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, sales commissions, and accounts payable. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
Key Responsibilities- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and account for business transactions.
- Prepare general ledger accounts and bank reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify and address control gaps, developing and implementing appropriate control procedures.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Develop financial analysis and cost accounting skills.
- Oversee payroll and AP functions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Three years of experience in plant manufacturing, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
- Experience with ERP systems and IBM i AS400.
- Strong PC skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Self-directed, with excellent initiative and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
