Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team at Brown University Health. As a key member of our medical engineering department, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of medical devices and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare equipment for repair and inspection
  • Perform safety inspections, performance verifications, calibrations, and preventative maintenance on general medical devices
  • Repair and maintain departmental maintenance records
  • Identify and determine solutions to equipment-related issues
  • Assist with equipment installation and product recall/corrective actions
  • Conduct equipment safety rounds and maintain accurate and timely documentation
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in electrical, electronic, or mechanical technology or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical and electronic equipment maintenance
  • Ability to read electro-mechanical circuit diagrams and manufacturers' service manuals
  • Ability to use independent judgment to determine priorities, analyze problems, and develop methods and procedures to resolve routine and emergency repairs
  • One to three years of progressive experience in electronics, electrical, electro-mechanical, or computer maintenance; biomedical equipment maintenance in a healthcare environment preferred
