We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Office Float Specialist to join our team at Baylor Scott and White Surgicare North Dallas. As a Business Office Float Specialist, you will be responsible for covering various aspects of the business office, including scheduling, insurance verification, financial counseling, patient calls, and chart building.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify insurance coverage prior to patient arrival, including add-ons and direct admits
  • Obtain pre-certification from insurance companies for procedures requiring pre-certification
  • Request office notes from referring physicians as needed for authorization
  • Calculate and inform patients of their outstanding balance
  • Communicate with physician offices
  • Ensure all required forms are placed in designated areas of patient charts
  • Prepare charts for next day's surgeries within the required deadline
  • Prepare medical consents for each chart prepared
  • Label necessary documents and add physician orders
  • Make outbound collection calls to patients regarding their medical invoice/bill, answering questions and setting up payment/payment plans
  • Utilize various collection strategies and methodologies to contact consumers and negotiate payment in full or payment arrangements within federal, state, and client collection guidelines and laws
  • Knowledge of healthcare financing and medical collections is preferred

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of insurance verification experience required
  • Minimum 2-4 years of hospital or medical office experience required
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional manner
