Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Claims Specialist to join our Excess, Coverage and Specialized Claims Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling a book of Commercial Casualty Excess/Umbrella claims, from initial investigation to resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine coverage and investigate complex commercial casualty claims, including premises liability, auto, products liability, and mass torts.
  • Evaluate claims with significant financial exposure and make informed decisions on liability, reserves, and settlement.
  • Manage litigation, negotiate settlements, and authorize payments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Underwriting, Reinsurance, and Defense Counsel, to ensure seamless claim resolution.
  • Stay up-to-date on existing and proposed legislation, court decisions, and trends affecting specialty coverage issues.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial casualty claims investigation, coverage, reserving, expense management, and resolution strategy.
  • Expert-level skills in customer focus, teamwork, and adaptability.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems, achieve results, and execute thoroughly.
  • 7+ years of experience in excess claims, with a focus on commercial casualty claims.
