The Sterile Processing Coordinator at Salem Hospital, Inc. is responsible for ensuring all required training and associated documentation for the department is completed as assigned.

Working collaboratively with Clinical Operations, the Sterile Processing Coordinator is responsible for registration, logistics, material preparation, reporting, and communications for all assigned training programs.

The Sterile Processing Coordinator actively participates in the training of student interns and new employees, maintaining competency in all core sterile processing functions is required.

Qualifications

  • Required Level: High School Diploma/GED
  • Preferred Level: Associates Degree
  • Required License/Certification: CRCST or CBSPD; Preferred License/Certification: CER or CIS
  • Type of Experience: Direct experience performing all sterile processing functions within an operative setting; experience in project management, training, or liaison function; experience gained in a large academic Medical Center or Trauma Center

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent organization, operations, people management, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand medical terminology in order to follow written instructions and complete various forms and records regarding equipment processing and preparation of equipment.
  • Existing knowledge of EPIC, HealthStream, and SPM
