Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Admission Coordinator to join our team at Salem Hospital. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and verify patient information, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Interview incoming patients or representatives to gather necessary information for admission
  • Enter patient information into our computer database, ensuring timely and accurate updates
  • Distribute relevant information to ancillary departments, ensuring seamless communication
  • Participate in performance improvement and CQI activities to enhance our admissions process
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English required (additional languages a plus)
  • Effective interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to type 40 wpm
  • Familiarity with medical billing, managed care, and other medical insurance
  • Previous office experience or training, preferably in a medical setting
  • Associate Degree in business or related field preferred
