Job Summary

The Central Sterile Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all required training and associated documentation for the department is completed as assigned. This role works collaboratively with Clinical Operations to register, manage logistics, prepare materials, report, and communicate for all assigned training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training programs for sterile processing staff
  • Collaborate with Clinical Operations to ensure seamless execution of training programs
  • Manage training documentation and associated records
  • Participate in the training of student interns and new employees
  • Maintain competency in all core sterile processing functions
Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma/GED

Preferred: Associate's Degree

Required License/Certification: CRCST or CBSPD

Preferred License/Certification: CER or CIS

Experience

Direct experience performing all sterile processing functions within an operative setting is required. Experience in project management, training, or liaison functions is also preferred. Experience gained in a large academic Medical Center or Trauma Center is highly valued.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent organization, operations, people management, and problem-solving skills are essential. The ability to speak, read, write, and understand medical terminology is required to follow written instructions and complete various forms and records regarding equipment processing and preparation.

Existing knowledge of EPIC, HealthStream, and SPM is a plus.
