We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Residential Specialist to join our team at Services For The Underserved, Inc. (S:US). The successful candidate will provide a warm and welcoming environment for our shelter residents, promoting person-centered services and supporting their independence.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure the well-being of residents
- Enter accurate and timely activity log information and shift notes
- Complete necessary admissions paperwork and assist with escorting residents to services and activities
- Meet with Shift Supervisor for individual and group supervision, and participate in planning and implementing self-care and social activities for residents
- Provide administrative support, including office coverage, telephone, and clerical work, as well as food services
- Understand and follow emergency procedures, including fire drills
- Perform other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor and Program Director
- Attend job-related trainings and agency meetings as necessary
- F02 certification
- Security license
- Ability to learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens
- Ability to maintain professional maturity during crisis situations
- Demonstrated sensitivity and experience working with homeless populations, including those with mental health and developmental disabilities
- Preferred qualifications include effective written and oral communication skills, proficiency with computer-based programs, and basic first aid certification
